A Changing Season, and Some New Sweater Yarns

As the weather starts to change, and you may be thinking about knitting a sweater, we have two new sweater-worthy yarns that we'd like to mention.

Mochi by Berroco came to the shop in early summer. With its squishy chainette construction and flecks of color, this yarn looks different than anything we have seen before. We haven't knit it ourselves, but a few returning customers have mentioned that they've really enjoyed knitting with it.

We recently received a sample sweater and Mochi pattern books from Berroco, which are now displayed at the shop. Berroco has also created a virtual trunk show for this yarn!

Pima Rino Tweed is a new yarn by Plymouth Yarn. Though Pima Rino came out a few years ago, Donegal was added to the 56% pima cotton and 26% superwash merino wool base, and it created a lovely new tweed yarn. This yarn is perfect for warmer climates, or for fall, spring or indoor wear in cold climates. And because it is so soft and machine washable, it can be worn by babies! Plymouth Yarns has not yet created patterns specifically for this yarn. However, use it with your favorite 5 sts=1 inch pattern, such as many of the Yankee Knitter patterns.
