A friend of the shop knit the Diamond Sweater by Oge Knitwear Designs and said everything about this knit made her happy: the pattern, the yarn, and the final result! This pattern is sized for children ages 1-12 and is available on Ravelry for $5.50.
It is knit using Rowan's Softyak DK, a blend of cotton, yak and nylon. Although it is a well-loved Rowan yarn, it is new to our shop. This yarn can be be gently machine washed, so it has been used for as many different projects as you can think of!
We considered making a simple neckdown pullover with this yarn using the free pattern Good Old Raglan, but the designer doesn't want shops to distribute the pattern. You may want to print it yourself if you are looking for a classic dk weight child's pullover pattern.
