Kasiani Knit in Lucca
Lucca is a new yarn from Berroco. It is a worsted weight luxury yarn made of 50% cotton and 50% cashmere.
Amy Christoffers designed the Kasiani cowl using four balls of this yarn: two of the main color and one each of two contrasting colors. The cowl is worked flat and uses slipped stitches -- also referred to as mosaic knitting -- to give a lot of texture and a whole lot of intrigue. Yet, it is more simple than you would think, because you knit with only one color at a time! You really need to see this cowl in person to appreciate the beauty of this knitted fabric. If you are not ready for such an undertaking, we think one skein will be just enough to make a beanie-style hat.
