This hat and cowl set is fun to knit and uses one skein each of Berroco's Vintage DK and Hayfield's Spirit DK (a self-striping yarn). There was so much yarn left over of the Spirit DK that one can easily knit another set.
If you want to try colorwork for the first time, this may be a good project to start because the pattern stitch is repetitive - but not boring - since the color changes keep the project exciting.
